Internal Faculty

Ms. Eva Rosalin, Coordinator, CSIM Chennai has over fifteen years of experience in the NGO sector. She has worked in areas of Healthcare, counseling, SHG women and Community Development initiatives. She coordinates the PGDSIM course and handles sessions on Social Entrepreneurship, Health, Microfinance, Communication and Leadership skills.
Mr M S Jothi, coordinates the field work activity and the SEOP classes. With over eight years of experience in rural development and community based projects, he handles sessions on Participatory Rural Appraisals and fieldwork. He has conducted PRA study in over 35 villages in and around Chennai as part of consultancy assignments for NGOs and Corporates.
Ms. Latha Suresh, Director, CSIM was an Independent Software Consultant handing various data processing & Software development projects prior to joining CSIM. She handles sessions on Social Entrepreneurship, NGO Management, Financial Management, Enhanced Computer Training and Fundraising strategies at CSIM. She is also a Social Auditor registered with SAN, UK. She is in the editorial team of CSIM’s publications.
Ms. Marie Banu, Head – Communications, heads the Centre for Media and Development Communication (CMDC) wing of CSIM. With over fifteen years of experience in Fundraising, Media, Communication, and Advocacy in National and International NGOs, she handles sessions on Resource Mobilization, Proposal writing, Media, and Management. She is the Chief Editor of the tabloid – Conversations published by CSIM.
Ms. Radha Jagan, a technical writer with over ten years of experience, handles sessions on Documentation and Spoken English. She is the Chief Editor of the newsletter - Connectionz, and is in the editorial team of Conversations. She is a social accountant and has helped 2 NGOs draft their Social Accounts
Ms. Vyjayanthe Mala, Chief Accountant, has over fifteen years experience in NGO accounting and Audit. She handles sessions on NGO accounting and Tally at CSIM apart from maintaining accounts for CSIM and many other NGOs.


External Faculty

Ms Geetha Narayanan
A consultant for International Centre for Women and several resource support organisations, is an MSW from Madras School of Social Work, Chennai. She has been involved with the development sector for the past 15 years with special focus on women’s issues, HIV/AIDS and children and has actively campaigned on these as well as livelihood issues. She teaches ‘Social Diagnosis’ and ‘Gender’ at CSIM.
Ms Girija Kumarababu
A development worker and child rights activist, has been associated with ICCW for many years. She is also a consultant trainer for many National and Internationl Organisations. She has been a member of the child welfare committee.
Ms Jayashree
A an MSW from Stella Maris College, Chennai, started her career in Christian Medical College as Research Supervisor and has worked in T. N. Medical College and B. Y. L. Nair Children’s Hospital in Mumbai. At present she is coordinating the community development projects of Kaingkarya Social Welfare Society
Dr Kalyani Sundarajan
A Consultant Counselling Psychologist and a senior faculty member of the Apollo Institute of Hospital Management and Allied Sciences. She is the founder member of the Association for Psychological Counselling. A Reiki Grandmaster and an author, she is also Director of ‘Sai Sahara Counselling and Healing Clinic” at Anna Nagar. She has been associated with CSIM now for several years, teaching Counselling to our students
Ms Kaveri Natarajan
She is the Founder of Kaingkarya Welfare Society which focuses on women’s education, employment and empowerment and children’s issues. She is a recipient of the Sadguru Gnanananda National award for the year 2002. She was also selected as a CRY fellow in the year 1995 for increasing retention of children in schools
Ms. Sheelu Francis
She is an outstanding leader of the 60 thousand-strong women’s collective, active in the whole state of Tamil Nadu. Ms. Sheelu is also the international spokesperson for the Collective, speaking about the impacts of international trade, debt and activities of transnational corporations on local development, on food security and sovereignty. She trains the students of CSIM on research and monitoring methods like Participatory Rural Appraisal.
Ms Sudha Umashanker
She is a freelance journalist based in Chennai with over 500 published articles to her credit. She is a scriptwriter and broadcaster par excellence. In addition she edits newsletters and website content for several organizations and lectures on Journalism, Media and Public Relations. As a social activist she has been involved in numerous NGO campaigns. At CSIM she lectures on Public Relations.
Dr. Sumathi Narayanan
She has a doctorate in Human Development from the Department of Psychology, University of Madras. She is a Certified NLPTM Practitioner and has undergone extensive advanced training in the application of Transactional Analysis in organizations with ITAA - International Transactional Analysis Association. She conducts workshops on Communication Skills and Personal Effectiveness using TA, NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) techniques.
Mr V Balakrishnan
He is the State Coordinator for Tamilnadu Primary School Improvement Campaign – TanPIC, Chennai. It is a network of NGOs, Schoolteachers, Panchayat Presidents involved in improving the quality of elementary education with people’s participation. He handles the ‘Education’ module at CSIM
Dr Kumarababu
He has 30 years of clinical, teaching, academic and research experience in the medical field as he was Professor & Head of the Department of Psychiatry, Govt. Stanley Medical College and Hospital. He has conducted numerous self-development programs for leading academic institutions in India. He handles modules on self development, leadership & team building, management, values & ethics at CSIM.
Mr Raja Samuel
He is an expert in the area of social research, has been working with organizations like State Resource Centre for Non-formal and Adult Education- Chennai, M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, Chennai, and Department of Social Work, Loyola College and Madras School of Social Work. He conducts research and training programs in the areas of health, management and group dynamics. He deals with the Social Research module at CSIM.
Mr Senthilathiban
He is the Founder of Sparks Development Group, Chennai which is a training development consultancy organization. Involved in organizing and conducting process oriented training programmes, behavioural assessments, research & evaluation studies, he has worked with institutions like Indian Society of Criminology, Department of Psychology, University of Madras, and is actively associated with several government and service organizations. He trains our students in Group Processes & OD.
